After reggae vocalist and metal enthusiast Benji Webbe disbanded the influential ’90s hybrid Dub War in 1998, he attempted to form a side project out of its ashes. But eventually, he started with a clean slate, enlisting the talents of bassist Daniel Pugsley, drummer Arya G., and guitarist Mikey Demus. Inspired by Webbe’s former project as well as the contemporary, hardcore-infused thrash of modern-day nu-metal, the quartet released their debut, BABYLON, in 2002. Five years later, their follow-up, ROOTS ROCK RIOT, emerged. In 2009, while at work on another LP, the group embarked on a worldwide tour with metal chart-toppers Disturbed.
