A former member of the revered gospel group Commissioned, Michigan-based singer/pastor Marvin Sapp embarked on a solo career in the mid-1990s. Renowned for his passionate delivery and deep voice, Sapp often gilds his songs with R&B and smooth-jazz touches, creating a highly accessible platform for his messages of Christian faith, as best evinced on 2007’s well-received THIRSTY. Sapp, along with fellow gospel luminary Fred Hammond, has also reunited with Commissioned on a number of occasions, including ‘06’s PRAISE & WORSHIP.
