After the break-up of both her new marriage and her hard-touring college Southern rock band Stoik Oak, Sarah Buxton went solo at the urging of her friend John Rich (from hit-making Nashville duo Big & Rich). With a uniquely gravelly voice and very personal writing style, she at first seemed an unlikely prospect for massive fame. After a term as a backup singer for Kenny Rogers and Cowboy Troy, Buxton got a major career boost when superstar Keith Urban recorded her song “Stupid Boy” and it became a hit. Buxton subsequently released a five song digital EP which featured her own hit single, “Innocence.”
