Brooklyn-based duo MGMT (short for Management) was formed when Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden were still in college. They wasted no time generating a buzz, signing a big-money deal for their debut album. That highly anticipated album, ORACULAR SPECTACULAR, was produced by Dave Fridmann, famed for his work with Flaming Lips and Mercury Rev, and you can hear his psychedelic pop influence at work, along with various shades of contemporary indie-rock and a fondness for colorful synthesizer touches, all filtered through MGMT's quirky, off-kilter sensibilities.
