Based in Huntsville, Alabama, this US country band rose to prominence on the national scene in 2006 with the number 1 hit, ‘I Loved Her First’. Jason Albert (vocals), Mike Myerson (lead guitar), Craig Anderson (rhythm guitar), Keith West (bass/vocals), Todd Anderson (drums) and Chuck Crawford (fiddle/vocals) had begun playing together in the late 90s, but despite building up a strong following in the southern states were unable to make the transition to national success. They signed their first recording contract in 2006 with the independent Lofton Creek Records label, and released debut I Loved Her First the same year. The mawkish title track gained widespread radio play on country stations and before the end of the year had risen up the charts to become an unexpected number 1 hit. The single also reached the national pop charts. Subsequent singles, ‘Built To Last’ and ‘Let’s Get Dirty’, failed to repeat the unexpected success of ‘I Loved Her First’, and by the start of the following year the band had parted company with Lofton Creek. They signed a new contract with the Country Thunder Records label.
