In 2006, famed Motley Crue bassist Nikki Six released a graphic novel-style autobiography titled THE HEROIN DIARIES that traced his notorious battles with drug addiction. As a musical accompaniment, he tapped the talents of vocalist/producer James Michael and DJ Ashba to form Sixx: A.M., who released an album likewise christened THE HEROIN DIARIES in 2007. Featuring catchy, Crue-esque metal, pummeling industrial, and several quieter, contemplative pieces, the record ran as a conceptual parallel to the book. Sixx then took his new project out on the road as a supporting act to Motley for the group’s annual Crue Fest.
