Raised in small-town North Carolina, country singer Bucky Covington (born William Joel Covington) first garnered national attention as a finalist on the fifth season of AMERICAN IDOL. Although Covington made it only to eighth place, his down-to-earth persona won over the Nashville crowd, resulting in a warm reception for his 2007 self-titled debut, which spawned the nostalgic hit single “A Different World." The album also featured the Southern-fried rock tune “Ain’t No Thing,” revealing Covington’s stylistic range.
