Italian songwriter, producer, and recording artist Giorgio Moroder is one of the most important figures in the development of techno and electronic dance music. The 1977 single "I Feel Love," a collaboration with Donna Summer, is cited by many as the very first techno record. Moroder has worked with a Who's Who of contemporary pop stars, including Blondie, David Bowie, Janet Jackson, and Elton John. Moroder is also a renowned Oscar-winning soundtrack composer, penning scores for films such as MIDNIGHT EXPRESS, SCARFACE, AMERICAN GIGOLO, and FLASHDANCE .
