Hailing from a tiny town in Florida, Travis Clark (guitar/vocals), Hunter Thomsen (guitar/vocals), Drew Thomsen (bass), and Danny Duncan (drums) came together while still in high school, eager to craft melody-driven emo tracks now typical of the region. It didn’t take long before the quartet was signed to S-Curve Records, a subsidiary of EMI and home to less-than-likeminded artists such as Little Jackie and Tom Jones. But under the production stewardship of Lou Giordano (who has overseen records by everyone from Sunny Day Real Estate to Yo La Tengo), they readied their self-titled 2007 debut and hit the touring circuit with other young emo upstarts like The Cab.
