While the Chi-Lites career spans six decades of vast versatility, as comfortable in political fury as in love’s grip, fluent in funk, soul, and doo-wop, the Chicago outfit is best known for two of the most enduring sweet soul ballads of the 1970s. After over a decade of struggling on the road, the Chi-Lites became one of the most successful groups of 1972 with the honeyed harmonies of "Have You Seen Her" and "Oh Girl," the latter topping the pop charts. While the group never matched that success, they would remain a popular draw on the oldies circuit into the 21st century.
