Led by clarinet player Rene Camacho, the group (usually numbering around 20 members) specializes in banda, a rhythmic, horn-driven, big-band cousin of the conjunto and Norteno music of the Mexican border states. The group were a popular live fixture throughout Mexico for nearly three decades prior to their 1997 breakthrough album MAS ARROLLADORA QUE NUNCA, and have remained a popular recording group ever since.
