Waco, Texas-born country singer Wade Bowen takes his musical cues from first generation outlaw country artists like Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings as well as later neo-traditionalist stars such as George Strait and Alan Jackson. Bowen started as the leader of a band called West 84 (the highway between his hometown and the west Texas college town of Lubbock where he began his songwriting career) before making his solo debut with 2002's TRY NOT TO LISTEN. The live THE BLUE LIGHT was released in 2004, followed by LOST HOTEL in 2006 and IF WE EVER MAKE IT HOME in 2008
