After a decade spent struggling in the indie rock trenches, Salt Lake City alternative metal outfit Royal Bliss signed with Capitol Records and released their major-label debut, LIFE IN BETWEEN, in 2008. Inspired by the first wave of heavy alternative rock acts from Nirvana to Smashing Pumpkins, Royal Bliss originally formed in 1997; the lineup consists of singer Neal Middleton, guitarists Taylor Richards and Chris Harding, bassist Tommy Gunn (replacing founder Brent Bruschke in 2006), and drummer Jake Smith. They released five indie albums, including the two-part AFTER THE CHAOS, between 1998 and 2006.
