b. 25 June 1968, Los Angeles, California, USA. Formerly a member of Tone Loc’s backing posse of rappers and dancers, the rap artist Candyman emerged in 1990 with a Top 40 Billboard album success, Ain’t No Shame In My Game. It was full of Loc’s familiar party vibes, with the occasional more distasteful cut such as ‘Melt In Your Mouth 69’, although ‘Knockin’ Boots’ reached number 9 in the charts. Subsequent releases, Playtime Is Over and I Thought U Knew, played down the pop element but offered diminishing returns.
