With a blissed-out spirit, Shwayze injected golden age-era rap with a dose of California chill for a radio-smooth, mellow pop sound with just a dab of gangsta bling. The sound came to be when the Malibu-born MC of the same name heard about the lush hip-hop beats being laid down by Whitestarr guitarist, and Cali scene legend, Cisco Adler. The pair teamed up in 2006 and within two years, aided by an MTV reality show (“BUZZIN’”), had a self-titled album, featuring the summertime-ready smash hit “Corona and Lime.”
